I have never ever seen the Shield. I want to pick up season one on DVD. I hear the show is great but want to catch it from the start.

I've seen all these shows at some point, but just haven't stuck with them for some reason:
Scrubs
Alias
The Shield
And all l I have to do is set a season pass on the TiVo, but they always end up conflicting with other shows I'm watching, so I just don't bother. Plus I absolutely hate to start all of a sudden watching a series that is already in it's second or third season. That's why I'm loving the WB for playing Gilmore Girls Beginnings, because I didn't realize what a great show it was until it was starting its third season.
I'll probably catch up on "The Shield" and "Alias on DVD.

Much of the same... I've never sat through more than one episode of West Wing, CSI, Babylon 5, Ed, Gilmore Girls, Smallville, The Shield, Survivor:Amazon, Boomtown...
And I really, really like to watch TV!

I just recently finished Season 1 on DVD an thought it was excellent. I never really watched the show at first because I either forgot or had something else to do, but after a few episodes I thought I would miss something so I just skipped the whole season. Probably shouldn't have, but I will eventually catch-up

For me, being in Canada basically means that I am limited to the major US networks, so I don't get to see any HBO shows until well after they are shown in the US (probably six months or more). Also, I do not get many UPN, WB, FX, Comedy Central, etc shows either. I have managed to track down some shows on various channels (and mostly horrendous timeslots): The Shield, The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Monk, Curb Your Enthusiasm, South Park, Sex and the City, and Buffy.
There are a handful of shows that I regret not watching, but the two that jump to mind are Angel and Gimore Girls. Angel, because I love Buffy, and GG, because I love Lauren Graham.

Please don't be offended by me. I like TV, I just somehow make a practice of missing out on a lot of great shows. I am a fanatical fan of Alias, Law & Order, The Amazing Race and Friends and I also love Scrubs and The Sopranos
Of course, I am a bad, bad person when it comes to TV ... I have also never seen a single episode of I Love Lucy, Gunsmoke, The Honeymooners, The Brady Bunch... the list goes on and on...

I have never seen the West Wing. When it first came on, it was before that little revolution that changed my life, the ReplayTV. I used to very closely guard the number of new shows I would watch/get into, because I'd hate having to miss them if I wasn't around. Of course, PVRs changed everything.
And I hate trying to get into a show like that from the middle, so I never picked it up.
I have never watched Ed either. Is that supposed to be that good? I guess I always thought it was a sitcom and I don't do sitcoms.

I watched both for a while and thought Chicago Hope was much more interesting. I quit watching after Mandy Patinkin and Peter NacNicol left. The storylines got more and more absurd after David E. Kelley left I had to stop watching and moved onto ER, which I quit watching after Sherry Stringfield left.
As for Ed, anyone not watching Ed is missing a great show. But that's the first time I've ever heard anyone say Michael Ian Black was funny.

Presumably Great Shows That I Missed Completely
Never Seen a Single Episode Of... Pt.2
ER: I was a huge fan of St. Elsewhere many moons ago, but afterwards there weren't any good medical shows... and I found I didn't miss them much, either... When ER and Chicago Hope debuted at the same time, it was the "other" show I was more interested in--Micheal Crichton had already churned out too much dreck, and David E. Kelley still had a hot reputation... I though CH had a better creative pedigree and cast... Also, I was turned off by ER's reputation of pushing the *ick* factor in its trauma stories, and the relentless tension and screaming of its emergency plots didn't sound too apealling...
Not sure why I didn't pick it up later, especially once George Clooney became a breakout star, except I hate coming into the middle of long, continuing storylines... It's one of those shows I figured I'd catch eventually in syndication, but never have...

for me
Alias
West Wing
24
Ed
American Dreams
Law and Order
because I don't have HBO
Soprano's
Band of Brothers (i guess it's a miniseries)
OZ
The West Wing
I cannot jump into the middle of a series which is why I have missed so many great TV series. which is why I love that they are coming out with so many series on DVD, I can watch them in chronological order, now i just need the money for them...
